Comparing natural immunity with vaccination

Trevor is a graduate in medical biochemistry and shows from a number of perspectives that vaccination has no basis in a modern evidence based world. The decline in infectious diseases is clearly demonstrated to be related to improvements in hygiene and housing and not the introduction of vaccination.

The booklet looks at how vaccines are created, their safety (or lack of!) and most interesting is the vaccine trials section. When you realise that the tuberculosis vaccine the BCG is the only vaccine that has been subjected to a placebo randomised controlled trial and the outcome was reported in the Lancet in 1980 as ' the largest controlled field trial ever done with this vaccine shows not only no evidence of a protective effect but in fact, slightly more tuberculosis cases have appeared in vaccinated than in equal-sized placebo control groups'. You wonder why this evidence has not influenced practice?

Explanations of the immune system and illness are really clear. The fact that 'polio', which used to be called infantile paralysis, was originally officially acknowledged to be caused by poisoning by the insecticides DDT and DDE and classed as 'neurological poisoning' is yet another example of the misinformation taught and disseminated by medical science.

This booklet is a really good read and should be available to all practitioners and parents who wish to make an informed decision about vaccination. Can't be read and ignored at as it is only 47 pages long there is no excuse for not reading it.
